Savanne is the least populated district of the island, with 67,779 residents at the 2022 census across 17 villages, and one of the most spectacular. Bel Ombre is a centre of hotels and nature tourism; Saint Félix holds a Smart City certificate; Souillac, Rivière des Anguilles and Chemin Grenier serve the local population, while the uplands around Bois Chéri are known for tea.
