Moka counted 85,538 residents at the 2022 census across 16 villages. On land of former sugar estates, Moka Smart City has brought together the Bagatelle shopping centre, offices, schools and homes at Telfair; Côte d’Or hosts a data technology park with its own Smart City certificate; Réduit is home to the University of Mauritius.
